Dyckerhoff Group sales increased by 14% in the first nine months 2011
Volume trend positive Full-year outlook unchanged: Group sales at about EUR 1.5 billion, considerable increase in EBITDA
Wiesbaden, November 7, 2011 The volumes of Dyckerhoff products increased almost in all relevant markets, only exception were the USA, there volumes decreased. Average prices for gray cements were higher than in the first nine months of 2010 in Ukraine, Russia and Poland. In the other countries, prices were not as high as they were the previous year. Group sales increased accordingly by 14% to EUR 1.2 billion.
Group EBITDA improved by a total of EUR 52 million to EUR 231 million, which is mainly attributable to higher volumes and price increases particularly in Ukraine and Russia, whereas lower prices in other regions and increased costs curbed this positive development. Depreciation and amortization rose as a result of the investment projects completed in the previous year and the extraordinary write-downs on the plant equipment purchased in previous years for deferred investment projects that we sold in the meantime. EBIT increased by EUR 38 million to EUR 127 million and the result before income taxes rose by EUR 32 million to EUR 89 million. For the first nine months 2011 this added up to a result after income taxes of EUR 66 million, which is EUR 16 million higher than previous year.
Wolfgang Bauer, CEO of Dyckerhoff AG: For 2011 as a whole our outlook remains unchanged: We expect Group sales at about EUR 1.5 billion and EBITDA to improve significantly.
