Dyckerhoff and Dyckerhoff Basal at the 62nd Betondag in Rotterdam

Interesting presentations and lively discussions on the future of concrete at a new venue

The Betondag is one of the largest one-day fairs of the construction industry in Europe and the most important trade exhibition of its kind in the Netherlands. Every year it is a meeting place for representatives from all sectors of the concrete construction industry, primarily from the Netherlands. Visitors and exhibitors have been using the event for years to exchange knowledge and experience on current developments in the industry.

The Van Nelle factory, once the most modern production facility in the Netherlands and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, made it possible for the first time to hold an exhibition on one level. As the building has been completely sustainable since its renovation, it was the ideal location for the event, which focused primarily on the sustainability of concrete. The most important question was: "How does concrete fit into a future determined by changes in climate and demographics?" Inspired by this, the motto of this year's event was "Panorama Beton" (concrete outlook).

The conference was accompanied by a trade exhibition. In the spacious exhibition hall there were also theme areas with presentations, debates, workshops and competitions. One day earlier, pupils of the upper secondary level as well as students of the universities and technical colleges and teachers had the opportunity to explore the exhibition in front of a professional audience for the first time.

At a joint booth, Dyckerhoff GmbH and Dyckerhoff Basal Nederland B.V. presented both products from their standard portfolio as well as innovative and modern binders and concretes, which – according to the motto of the event – improve the sustainability of the structures created with them.
