CEM II/C-Zemente

According to various industry associations, CEM II/C cements are an effective approach to reducing CO2 emissions in construction using cement and concrete. They achieve the required technical performance despite reduced clinker use.

In CEM II/C-M (S-LL), part of the Portland cement clinker is replaced by other components. The “C” in the name indicates that it is a composite cement with a clinker content of between 50 M.‑% and 64 M.‑%. The “M” indicates that it is a multi-component cement, in this case with the main components being granulated blast furnace slag (‘S’) and limestone (“LL”).

Compared to CEM III/A cement, however, larger quantities of granulated blast furnace slag, which will only be available in limited quantities in the future, can be saved while maintaining comparable technical performance and clinker factor. The cement thus also contributes to the conservation of important resources, which can be used very efficiently in CEM II/C cement.

Without separate verification, CEM II/C-M (SLL) cements can be used in all exposure classes, with the exception of XF2, XF3, and XF4. Since the requirements XF2, XF3, and XF4 apply to only a small proportion of all concrete applications, more than 80% of all concrete delivered can be produced with CEM II/C cements.

Dyckerhoff offers the following clinker-efficient cements:

Dyckerhoff CEDUR – bulk cements

CEM II/C-M (S-LL) 42,5 N (na)

Dyckerhoff CEDUR are cements with a carbon footprint that is up to 39 %* lower than that of CEM I cements. The optimized composition enables the production of sedimentation-stable concretes and additionally contributes to the conservation of natural resources. Dyckerhoff CEDUR are cements with low effective alkali content and have lower heat generation.
