Dyckerhoff at the 70th BetonTage in Ulm

Innovation, sustainability, and knowledge exchange at the heart of Europe’s largest concrete industry conference

From March 10 to 12, 2026, the 70th BetonTage took place at the Congress Centrum Ulm – Europe’s largest specialist congress for the concrete industry and a central platform for exchange between experts from business, science, design, and construction practice. Under the motto “Markets for People”, the event, featuring 144 exhibitors and more than 1,500 professionals, provided an ideal opportunity to discuss current developments in concrete construction and to learn about practical, hands-on solutions.

Dyckerhoff once again participated with innovative products. At our stand, we demonstrated how cement and concrete can contribute to making tomorrow’s markets more people- and climate-friendly – including our newly developed CEM VI cement, a resource-efficient and CO₂-reduced binder. This innovation earned us a place in the finals for the Innovation Award for Suppliers of the Concrete Component Industry 2026. The first prize went to the startup Emidat for its platform enabling automated environmental and product data.

As part of the congress, Dr. Werner Remarque (Technical Consulting) presented our new CEM VI cement in the German-language innovation podcast and explained how it contributes to the production of CO₂-optimized concretes:

In addition to the exhibition stand, the ice cream stand sponsored by Dyckerhoff WEISS once again proved to be a real crowd favorite. Numerous visitors enjoyed a variety of ice cream flavors – including the exclusive “BLUE STAR” creation, served in specially branded cups.

Together with the Informationsgemeinschaft Betonwerkstein e.V. (Info-b), we showcased numerous examples of “Sustainable Building with Artificial Stone” at the joint stand. Info-b impressively highlighted the versatility of this material and hosted a well-attended panel on “Artificial Stone.” The focus was on exciting project reports and practical insights into sophisticated artificial stone applications. In addition to presentations by Info-b members, architects and planners also shared firsthand experiences. Among the featured projects were several that used Dyckerhoff binders – for example, the premium NANODUR cement for the concrete cross of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, as well as Dyckerhoff WEISS, which was used, among other applications, in the construction of the shell roof with its distinctive chalice-shaped columns and skylights at the new Stuttgart Central Station. The latter was presented by Christian Bechtoldt, who served as the project’s technical consultant. As in previous years, the event was moderated by Martin Möllmann, Head of Sales for White and CSA Cement at Dyckerhoff and board member of Info-b.

Once again, BetonTage proved to be an impressive event, offering numerous opportunities for networking and professional exchange with our customers and other industry partners. Our team looks back on inspiring conversations and valuable encounters – three days full of innovation and vibrant knowledge sharing.
