Dyckerhoff at the BetonTage innovation podcast
Pozzolans as innovative clinker substitutes
Dyckerhoff was represented at the innovation podcast as part of the 69th BetonTage in Ulm. Fulvio Canonico, Head of the Wilhelm Dyckerhoff Institute (WDI) in Wiesbaden, spoke about pozzolanicity and its importance for the sustainable development of the cement industry.
A central focus of the podcast was on sustainability aspects, which also play a key role at Dyckerhoff. The WDI is conducting intensive research into new binders and clinker substitutes in order to actively drive forward the decarbonization of the cement industry.
The focus is on pozzolans - natural or artificial substances that are used as clinker substitutes. They make a significant contribution to reducing CO2 emissions without having to compromise on the strength, durability or other important properties of cement.
Find out more about how pozzolans are used in the sustainable production of white cement and the important role they play in the future of a more climate-friendly concrete and cement industry!
