Dyckerhoff Cement Plants Once Again Achieved a Top Record in Occupational Safety
Six Plants Remained Accident-Free in 2024
On November 13 and 14, 2025, representatives of the German cement industry gathered in Düsseldorf for the annual “Jahrestagung Zement” conference organized by the Association of German Cement Manufacturers (VDZ). A core element of the event is the presentation of the VDZ Occupational Safety Award, which honors member plants for outstanding achievements in workplace safety.
In 2024, Dyckerhoff once again achieved an exceptional result: six cement plants remained completely accident-free. The Deuna, Geseke, Göllheim, Lengerich, Neuss, and Neuwied plants were recognized for this achievement – marking another improvement over the already strong performance of the previous year.
During the conference, certificates were presented to the plant representatives. The excellent record was attributed particularly to the consistent commitment of all employees, who integrate occupational safety into everyday work routines.
In 2024, the total number of accidents across the German cement industry declined significantly. The accident frequency rate (accidents per 1 million working hours) fell from 8.58 to 5.99, and the number of lost workdays dropped by 53% to 721 – the lowest level since records began in 1969.
